The short version of why we're changing the process is that there's too many emails. Hundreds of emails. Most which unfortunately lack information to expedite the process (entirely due to the loosey-goosey way we were). Our system was more meant for handling 20 - 100 emails opposed to the mess we've ended up with.
Ironically, it means finding puppies homes became harder opposed to easier. For this reason the final puppy from Pippy's litter will be placed on the site. In the future, it is also possible that if a puppy has not found a home by the time they hit 8 weeks via the waitlist, we will turn to newer inquiries. Our priority is puppies getting to homes.
ANYWAYS. So we're changing it! This DOES mean that if you were on the waitlist before, you may want to resend via the new system. We'll try organizing old emails into the new waitlist if we find that they meet all/most of the criteria we need answered.

Step 1: the application
We ask you to start by filling out THIS APPLICATION as truthfully as you can to your interests and lifestyle.
We will be organizing the waitlist based on individual interests. We will be frank: If you are only interested in merles and blue eyes, your wait will undoubtedly be longer as there are a lot of people who want those traits and there's no way to ethically breed for more merles. Those interested in tris can expect a quicker response.
If you are exclusively interested in blue eyes we will only contact you when we have a puppy currently available that has visible eye color (5+ weeks old), as we cannot guarantee anything sooner than that.
Finishing and sending the application in automatically puts you into our waitlist. In the instance where we do not think an aussie is a good fit for you, we will contact you and try to recommend potential breeds or places to start researching a better fit for your lifestyle.

Step 2: Deposit List
Applications organized, everyone is on the waitlist. From there we will pick folks, based on both who has been on the waitlist the longest (with exceptions of if you are not looking for a puppy for a while longer) and their interests in order to make up a deposit list.
The deposit list will be those we can expect to have puppies for in the next season or the season thereafter (ex, we would not take on someone wanting a red tri/merle if we did not see ourselves breeding for that within the next 6 months).
I will reiterate, because this is important with aussie breeding: this does mean getting a puppy will happen sooner for those interested in tris. Merles make up 25% of all aussie puppies and there's no means of ethically breeding them more commonly. We intend to make the deposit list follow this percentage.
The wait for getting a merle is simply longer.
Deposits will be a nonrefundable $500 and be a portion of the total cost of your puppy.
Puppies from Waldfrieden currently cost $1700 for tris and $2500 for merles. There is no cost change for sex or eye color.
Before anyone ends up on the deposit list, we will email you to have a conversation, ask for elaboration on lifestyle and plans for the puppy, etc. If we do not think you would be a good fit for aussies, or believe you may receive a puppy more suited to your interests from a different breeder, we will let you know!

Waldaussies email will be used for questions/requests
[email protected] will still be used for previous clients and questions. Honestly, we aren't sure if we lost important emails from people in the avalanche of inquiries we've gotten over the past few months and hopefully now we'll be able to better answer people.
If you have questions, you can email [email protected], if you have requests for paperwork, or are on our deposit list, you can sent an email here as well.
We'll be going back over our emails again to hopefully catch anything missed, but the process may be slow. Don't be afraid to poke us if you feel missed. We're trying our best but honestly have never had experience with so many emails before COVID! We're learning..
We'll continue to try and streamline this process more and more with time. Adapt. Improve. We're genuinely very sorry for anyone that felt lost due to our messy waitlist.
