Shipping:
Waldfrieden does not generally fly puppies. An exception to this is dogs/puppies sold to other breeders. Pet puppies can be shipped by private pet nanny for a fee, providing that you or someone by proxy, visits our home and the puppy no sooner than 2 weeks prior to delivery.
The Process:
1. Fill out our Application: Which can be found HERE! We'd appreciate as much information as you can possibly give about yourself, what your lifestyle is like! You are welcome to add in your phone number as well, but that is not required whatsoever. All applications are then sorted through and manually read. If we have a qualm or question regarding your application, we will let you know!
2. We do take some advanced deposits, if you wish, but only on puppies we can assure appearing within the next year; in example, a black tri male, or a blue merle but either gender is acceptable for you. Since there's so many possibilities with aussies and so many specific wants from individual people, we do not feel comfortable taking on too many advanced deposits at once, but we will always keep the waitlist folks updated on current litters! If you're interested in having an advanced deposit down, let us know!
3. Once you've been alerted to and are interested in a litter/puppy/dog, there is a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve a puppy. Please understand; this is not an additional fee, but a portion of the total cost of the puppy. If something comes up, or if the right puppy for you is not in that litter, then your deposit is still viable for a future litter that interests you.
4. At six weeks old, the puppies can be visited. This is optional! You will get to meet the puppies available to you. Visits are generally an hour long, and, as long as the weather is nice, we like to have them outdoors. You get to play with the puppies and get to see how they act for yourself. 6 week visits are only available for those with a deposit down.
Please understand: If you have had a dog/pup with parvo in recently, we cannot have you over nor adopt a puppy out to you. Stay in contact with your vet about what you can do, and when it will be safe for you to be visiting any breeder or puppy. If your dog has been sick with anything contagious, please reconsider a 6 week visit. We don't want the puppies getting sick, that can be deadly to these little ones..
5. Our contract; we have two methods of filling this out; digitally or printed. You're welcome to print out your own copy to bring over, but that's not necessary. Contracts are signed after the 6 week mark, when the puppies are microchipped in order to have our contracts have unmistakable identification on them. That being said, we highly recommend everyone downloads and reads our contract to make sure it's all good in your book!
3.5 / 5.5. Be sure you ask for directions to my house as GPS will not get you here. Also be sure to order the same food puppy was raised on (typically we use Taste of the Wild: High Prairie Puppy Formula. Royal Canin is sometimes used instead, or mixed together with Taste of the Wild.) If you don't end up getting the same brand of puppy food, we will happily supply you with a baggie of some of their kibble! It's important to make the change in food a little gradual to prevent indigestion.
6. Puppies can start being picked up at 8 weeks old, however we are happy to hold onto the puppy for a little while longer if you need that for the sake of more ideal timing in your life. Just let us know what you'd like to schedule it as, and we'll work with you and let you know if it's possible or not. We like to see our puppies go to compatible homes most of all, so we don't want them to miss out because of a few busy weeks on your plate!
PLEASE NOTE: If we do not have a scheduled pickup date and do not hear from you, and cannot get a reply from you as of the 8 week mark, then your reservation on the puppy will be considered forfeit no more than 14 days later as we need to be able to find to then find the puppy a new home..!
PLEASE NOTE: You cannot put a young puppy in dog boarding/doggie hotels, etc. It's dangerous for their physical and mental health. If you know in advance that your schedule will be too busy for a puppy, then we encourage you to wait for a future litter when your schedule may be more welcoming, or to consider adopting an adult dog! Puppies require a lot of attention.

Visits:
PLEASE READ!
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR YOUNG PUPPIES!
Puppies have little to no immunity. We are ultra careful where our dogs are allowed go, or where we go ourselves, so as not to bring contagious illness home to our unprotected puppies. An individual who has been in contact with parvovirus, for example, may still have the disease on their shoes or clothes months later. Visits to multiple breeders is highly dangerous to young puppies, and for this reason, we do not host individuals who want to “see my property”, “meet the breed”, or “meet the parents” before placing a deposit. References are posted on our website. Our need for privacy and personal safety on our property is an equally important reason for this policy.
1. Only individuals with deposits down are allowed to come meet their puppies available to them.
2. We can not host buyers interested in meeting the breed or the parent dogs on our property as a prerequisite for placing a deposit.
3. When puppy visits are outdoors, we welcome the whole family! However, when we all know that we'll have to have the visit in our workshop (ex, in the dead of winter), then please limit the amount of people coming to 1 - 3 people (potentially 4 with kids). If the weather changes, causing a planned outdoor visit to happen indoors, just expect to take turns. Our space is small.
4. We do not have a bathroom available for visitors..
5. Families who have had a dog with parvo in their home CANNOT adopt a puppy because the disease is still in their home, and puppies do not have protection until their final vaccinations at 16 weeks. If you had a dog within the last year that passed away from an illness, call your vet and check if it is safe for you to be visiting puppies, to have a young puppy yet, etc.
Please. Illnesses like parvo are highly contagious to puppies and deadly.
8. Please do not wander around our property, or have members of your party doing so while you are inside. We have had people peering into the dogs play yard while the dogs bark back at them. We live in a secluded area, so it can take our dogs by surprise and stress them out, since they aren't used to joggers, etc.
9. We only occasionally allow a family dog to come if we feel that dog has a personality that needs to check out the potential sibling. Dogs must stay on leash and our visit must be outdoors. We only allow this if planned well in advanced and ask for the following: your dog cannot have recently been in a doggie hotel/boarded, or otherwise been in a place that frequently has lots of dogs that may or may not carry illnesses (ex, a dog park). Please wash your dog before visiting just to be 100% certain! Again, this is rare that we allow this and only when we believe it is necessary for a dog with a strong personality that needs a particular sort of friend.
Incidentally; if you know your dog has an extremely high prey drive, they might be too distracted to come, as we have chickens and, frankly, a lot of wild rabbits, songbirds, and chipmunks that skitter all around.
We apologize for any inconvenience this policy may cause, and truly value those clients that can respect our boundaries, and appreciate the extra precautions we take to assure the health and safety of their future puppy.
